You definitely need to show a bit more of the pet... I think if you just had a bit of his left hand or arm breaking through the dust/fog, it would really sell the idea that he's walking along with his owner.
yeah, I had a hand in there before, I dunno, it didn't seem to work for me, but perhaps I'll try putting it back in.
