Finally Done!

This be the last of those freaking Xmas Paintings, I can now waste the rest of my break's free time with video games like God intended! This one is for my little brother, Ramon. It is the only painting of the entire batch intended to be a caricature of the recipient. Its pretty crude (both in topic and quality), but works well for him. I had to rush this one, I have to get these printed tomorrow.

Welder

Here is the next of my Xmas presents, for my stepdad who is a welder. There isnt much to this one and it is very safe, just using my typical style.

Wolf

This is the next of my xmas paintings, this one is for my mom, who was really hard to think of something for. I know she likes wolves and native american art so I looked at some examples of native art for inspiration. unfortunately this doesnt really look native american styled at all, it looks more like a cartoon painted with a native american texture on top but I actually kinda like it still.

Operator

This is the next of my Xmas paintings, this one is for my grandma, she was an operator back in her day. This time I used Shoomlah as inspiration (example... http://shoomlah.deviantart.com/art/Spring-75619058 )

kneeling power dude

Another piece using the same technique. Uninspired/cheesey compared to the last, I know, but I just wanted to try out the work flow again. This method is pretty quick for me so I hope to be doing color pieces more often.

warrior man guy

Playing with a different technique. I know there are anatomy/perspective issues. I'm just going to move on to the next one, though.

revised speedpainting.

dont know why I kept going on this one it was lame to start with but here it is anyway.
A couple of the poses from tonights session 1-5 minutes. I seem to have not been able to decide how long his torso was from pose to pose...

Phantom

This is my next christmas present painting, this one is for my cousin who is an extreme fan of phantom of the opera (the one where he's played by a pretty boy and not really deformed at all :P). I tried with this one, but the end result came pretty "meh"

*Updates* Used Kelsey's critique, also lengthened the phantom's legs and made his head smaller (the proportions seemed too cartoony for me)
*Updates* Lowered woman on composition

Violinist

So for christmas I am too poor to buy presents this year, so instead, I'm being cheap and making them >:) Here is the first of the bunch, this is for my brothers girlfriend, she is a violinist, this is not a caricature, just the topic is influenced for her. When cleaning up I noticed the violin was severely bent, and to save time I just painted it broken (just explaining why that is :P). I was influenced heavily by...

he has always been one of my favorite artists and I decided to really look at his style, particularly this pic http://sam-m.deviantart.com/art/Chaired-34752148

City at Night

Dunno how much I like this one, but got tired of working on it

Junk

Trek Star and Space Trout

Two new characters: Trek Star, intergalactic space jock/bounty hunter/reality TV show star/chick magnet. Obviously, he excels at pummeling space pirates, slavers and mutant dictators, but what he truly covets is the limelight.

And then there's SPACE TROUT!!! aka Leonard Troutsky, who was originally conceived as Trek Star's sidekick but after drawing him more I realize he's a way more interesting character and therefore will try to develop him further. He's this gung-ho, trigger happy mercenary type, who has a bit of a Napoleon complex. He's an ex-marine whose body died, prompting the government to transplant his brain into that of a genetically enhanced trout. Of course, a trout on it's own isn't very useful, so they gave him a superpowered mechanical torso with huge buff arms to boot.

Originally I had him with mechanical legs, but I wanted him to be more fish-like so I gave him fish-feet instead.

Luis Virago

Another character concept for my Chupacabras! idea, this is Luis Virago, a sly and crooked lawyer with his two pet chupacabras Mala and Mentiroso, who match his personality in being more evil and intelligent then the other chupacabras.
