Just something I've been throwing together off and on the last couple days. Still needs a lot of work and probably re-working in some areas. Lots of clean up. Also her left arm is kind of hidden along her side, so I need to find another position or try and bring that out some more. Generally just trying to get better with my character stuff and rendering things out more. Crits!

I spent some time playing with a different pallete (for me) in preparation for an outside project.

I ended up choosing the third design, because I felt the more dramatic proportions and cartoony style would read better on something like the DS. I also thought it was fun, and wanted to branch out of my own style a bit, for a little extra challenge. Apparently, I also thought it'd be a fun challenge not to draw the arms straight out to the sides...

Character Ideas

I've always loved characters, so it's about time I explored modeling them. I thought I should come up with a concept, since that's the most fun part...the theme I came up with was "Little Red Riding Hood as a super hero." Here are the designs I came up with. Two of them are trying to be artists on this blog...namely Tim and Scott. Can you guess which ones? ; P (You have to click on the image to see them all I guess.)

Nose picking vampire

Started this painting awhile ago. It's not quite finished, but I figured it was along enough to post. I yoinked the composition and pose from a movie poster...but I added in my own character from a comic I'm working on. So that makes it mine, right? Right.

Anatomy Work

Since anatomy is my major downfall lately, I went to half-price books and got a bunch of books for reference on anatomy, I drew for about an hour tonight referencing a book called suicide girls, its kinda a softcore gothic pinup book, I never reference my work normally so I am very rusty at it, but I figure if I keep it up it will help me in my troubles! Please keep up the critiques! * Updated, added drawings made referencing a 40's sears fashion book.

Finally Painted!

I finally painted it, but I only spent like an hour on it. Go figure...... and yes. the grass is the grass brush in photoshop, the lighting was done with the dodge and burn, and I bought my P.H.D. for 90 bucks (plus S&H).... whut whut? do sumthin.

(it sucks... I know... but I havent posted in anything in months)
